Firmware flasher for the reTerminal E1002 — step 1: static test image

Before you click

  1. Use Chrome or Edge on the Mac (Safari can't talk to USB serial).
  2. Plug the reTerminal into the Mac with a data USB-C cable, not a charge-only one.
  3. Click Connect, pick the port that appears (usually usbmodem or usbserial), then Install.
  4. If no port shows up: hold the device's BOOT button, tap RESET, release BOOT, then retry.

This replaces the firmware Seeed shipped. Seeed's Firmware Hub can put it back any time.

This browser can't flash over USB. Open this page in Chrome. Web Serial needs an https page (or localhost).

What happens next

The device reboots, the panel goes through its colour-flash dance for 15–30 seconds, and draft 7 appears. Then it deep-sleeps; press RESET to redraw. No Wi-Fi is involved in this build.

Look for: thin rules holding up, logo edges, how the blue reads against black, any ghosting after a second redraw.
